I know most producers / beatmakers / Hip Hop lovers hold J Dilla in the highest regard for the art form, but I wasn't too hip to Dilla when I got into Hip Hop. I decided to take a closer look at his discography and legacy this year, and took a crack at learning / exercising his style in beatmaking, in order to pay tribute to the legend.
An attempt was made, and most of this tape was performed at "Donuts are Forever" 2024 at Baby's All Right, Brooklyn NY.
All beats made on the SP-404MK2 and rendered into the SP-555.
